Fitness Forecast for March
May the stars be ever in your favor for March.
March begins with the Sun and Mars in Pisces, the sign of intuition, dreams, and compassion. Last month it was all about the flow. That emphasis will continue until Mars changes signs on the 12th, moving from gentle Pisces to fiery, impulsive, and sometimes reckless Aries.
The Sun joins Mars in Aries on March 20th. the first day of Spring ~ also known as the Spring Equinox. If you’re champing at the bit for a new start, the Sun and Mars in Aries are able to provide vigorous energy and motivation to meet your new fitness goals.
Uranus, the planet signifying rebellion and invention, has been in Aries since 2010, ushering in a new era of self-assertion. The Sun and Mars will encounter this head-strong, independent energy to create a level of self-assertion that we haven’t seen in quite a while. There is no stopping this indomitable trio through the end March. Come April, the energy will start to dissipate. Make haste, not waste.
Astrology is much more than Sun signs. Each planet represents a force active in everyone’s life. Mars is the planet of action. It’s what gets you up and moving and is the prime motivator in getting us off the sofa and into workout mode.

If you’re moving your workout outdoors as the weather warms up, keep your eyes safe from harmful rays with sunglasses that give you the proper UV protection. Other foes to note are headaches and dizziness. Since Mars and Aries will push themselves to the limit, there is a strong possibility for injury when these forces merge without caution.

The hitch is becoming frustrated by results that are slower to develop than you desire. Tenacity is your strong suit with this energy and can do a lot to help you reach your fitness goals. Find the pleasure in your workouts to stay the course.
Gemini ~ You’re enlivened and enthusiastic with Mars in Aries energy, Gemini. It’s an auspicious time to try various workouts instead of sticking to the same-old same-old. That will just bore and frustrate you. Don’t let distractions get the best of you and talk to your instructors to get the most from your workouts.

Leo ~ This is an easy time for you, Leo. The frustration you feel at the beginning of March should give way to confident enthusiasm by mid-month. Everything seems like smooth sailing. Libra ~ The Mars in Aries energy may be more difficult for you than for most, Libra. Workout partners may push you to the limit now or you may find fault with your instructors or other people in class. Keep it between the ditches, as they say, avoiding confrontations. They are sure to crop up at this time.
Scorpio ~ Mars is one of your planetary rulers, Scorpio, along with Pluto. They are a powerful pair that isn’t for the faint-hearted. Use this awesome duo to work through this period. Just like Virgo, this is a period of adjustment for you. You’re not content to analyze, though. You enlist the power of your desires and emotions to reach your ultimate goal while eliminating what needs to go.
Sagittarius ~ Are you ready for greener pastures, Sagittarius? The world is your oyster now if you want it to be. As you work through difficult areas, give yourself the recognition you deserve for even small accomplishments.
Aquarius ~ Mars will join forces with your ruling planet, Uranus. This is a volatile force, Aquarius. Harness this power to get favorable results from your workouts now. Pisces ~ You’re likely to be more uneasy with this energy than the other signs, Pisces, feeling like things are moving too fast or that you just can’t connect. If this happens, it’s wise to slow down and regroup. Your sensitive system needs plenty of downtime. Movements that are slow and rhythmic can bring benefits your way. Tango and other forms of ballroom dance are excellent for flexibility and stamina. Water aerobics is the perfect blend for Mars and Pisces.

February Fitness Forecast
It’s time to mix up your workout! Strech out and branch out with something new.
The month starts off with the sun in Aquarius, the sign of invention and experimentation. If your fitness routine is feeling a little dull and uninspiring, change it up to rev it up.
On the 18th, the Sun moves into dreamy, mystical Pisces. The spirit/body connection will take on more importance and it becomes all about the flow.
Mars, the motivator, joins the Sun in imaginative Pisces on the 1st and stays there until March 13th. While in Pisces, Mars enjoys gentle yoga and swimming. If a pool is not available, long soaks in the tub will satisfy the Pisces desire to be in or near the water. Pisces is moved by music, so get a great groove going with uplifting, rhythmic music that feeds your body and soul.
Fitness Foes
Mars turns his attention to our feet as he travels through Pisces. Fitness foes to be on the alert for are blisters, toe injuries, athlete’s foot rash, gout, stress fractures, neuropathy, plantar faciitis, heel spurs, and bad-fitting or worn out workout shoes. Don’t skimp on the right shoes for your workout and be sure your shoes give your arches the support they need.
Pisces is one of the water signs, along with Cancer and Scorpio. The water signs have a tendency to bloat, so watch your salt intake. Check the ingredients on all your sports drinks and don’t overload on sodium.
